Positions
In traditional indoor volleyball, there are six people on the each side of the court at all times. Three in the front and three in the back. There are hitters, back row, and the setter. Hitters are usually the front row players (outside of the occasional back row attack), and they are the ones that will heavily focus on spiking. The setter is usually in the right front position, unless you are doing a special rotation for a back row setter. The setter’s job is to take the second ball of each play to set the ball to the hitters so they can attack. The three people in the back make up the back row. Their main goal is to pass the ball, that the other team sends over, to the setter. The server is whoever is in the back right position.
When the other team had the serve but your team just gained a point, you will all rotate positions clockwise. You will stay in these positions until the other team gets the serve back AND after that you get it back again.
If you are playing 2's, 3's, 4's, or 5's, these positions more or less apply.

And that’s all there is to it! Now get out there and play some ball!
